Are you ready to undertake the challenge of "sewing for the cause"? Making your own reenacting wardrobe can be cost-effective, fun, challenging, and very period correct! Women of the 19th century did not buy ready made clothing - they made their families clothes, or hired a seamstress.

In the Fabric department, you'll find everything the Civil War seamstress needs to outfit herself, her family, and her home.  You'll find the best quality muslins and woven plaids, as well as reproduction prints from major fabric houses like Moda, Marcus Brothers, P&B Textiles, and Benartex.

You'll also find those elusive items like wool and silk yardage, buckram, boning, horsehair braid, huck toweling, and duck cloth. I am still looking for a good source of brown polished cotton.

Visit our Patterns section for a variety of period-correct garment and quilt patterns, and books to help you fine-tune your impression. We carry Past Patterns, Buckaroo Bobbins, and Sense & Sensibility patterns. We can special order P&B or Moda fabric, any item in the Past Patterns catalog.

We will also carry a small selection of premade clothing; aprons, bonnets, and children's period clothing. We custom make children's clothing as well. Our stock on these goods is seasonal; please check back or email us for a current listing of what is available.
