The most frequently asked question is:

Q. Are you Ruby Jane? If not, who is?

A. My name is Barbara Thomas, and I am the owner of Ruby Jane Vintage & Reproduction Wares,
which is the umbrella company for several ventures, including Ruby Jane's Retro Fabric and More.

"Ruby" is my grandmother  "Jane" is my mother. Their photos appear above their names in my logo.
(Wasn't my mom an adorable baby? She won't let me display a more current picture! These two remarkable
women were and are great influences in my life. I named my business after them because I love and respect
them, and everything I sell is a product that would meet with their high standards.

My own daughters have now joined the business, and someday I hope they will be writing things like this FAQ
and my photo will join the gallery!
Q. Do you sell cuts smaller than one yard?

A. Yes, we now carry fat quarter bundles, jelly rolls, and charm packs. Some fabrics can be cut in half yards for a small cutting fee. Just email us.

Q. What is a pre-order?

A. Fabric lines are shown to vendors  6-8 weeks in advance of their arrival. With popular groups, the first printing of the fabric often sells out quickly, sometimes before the fabric even arrives in the store! Pre-ordering ensures that you will receive your fabric in the first printing. We offer pre-orders on the most popular fabric groups, such as Three Sisters from Moda.

Q. Speaking of Moda, why do you carry so many of their products?

A. Because we live in Moda's backyard? Actually, we are about 30 miles from the Moda warehouse in Dallas. Because we are so close, we can shop directly from the warehouse. We save freight, and have access to many warehouse-only sales. And we can pass these savings on to you!

Q. There was a fabric I wanted to buy, and I don't see it in your catalog anymore. Can I still get it?

A. Possibly. If it is still available, we can reorder. Just Email us with the details.

Q. Do you special order fabrics?

A. Yes. We do require a minimum 5 yard purchase for special orders. This is because we must purchase the fabric in 15 yard bolts. We can also special order patterns from any of our pattern vendors, and Moda for Home bedding. There is no fee for special orders.

Q. Do you have a brick and mortar shop?

A: We will soon! In August of this year, we will be opening a shop in historic downtown Plano, Texas. We also appear at many quilt shows and craft fairs throughout the DFW area. Our current schedule is here.

Q. Do you ever have sales?

A: Yes, we do. If you are on our mailing list, you can receive advance notice. Otherwise, bookmark our home page and check back regularly for sale announcements.

Q: Do you have any special discounts for Quilt Guild members?

A: Yes we do! Email us with the name of your local guild and we will send you a discount code that any of your guild members can use.

Q: How do I know how much my order will cost to ship?

A: Our shipping rates are figured by the total cost of your purchase. The shopping cart should show you an estimate of your shipping cost. Orders over $500 ship for a flat rate of $19.95. If you are an international buyer, in a country other than Canada or the UK, no shipping charge will appear in your shopping cart. Instead, we will email you with shipping options after you have placed your order.

Q. I am a crafter and would like you to carry my product. What do I do?

A: We love finding new and wonderful products to share with consumers. Please send an email to info@rubyjane.com with photographs of your products and a description, size information, prices and quantities.
